Full Job Description:
Assist Principals in the comprehensive structural design of variety of building types and structural systems, including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry. Prepare well organized and concise structural engineering documentation for all building design phases. Perform structural engineering design, planning and technical analysis for all aspects of building structures and for both new construction and building retrofit using ASCE 41 code. Work closely and communicate effectively with architects and all other engineering disciplines in the project deisgn process for innovative and sustainable designs. Identify and solve design and construction challenges. Coordinate with building department to address comments and complete the permit process. Conduct site observations and investigative analysis towards completion of construction. Provide quality control research for product and construction methods related projects. Requires Master's degree in civil or structural engineering. Two years work experience as Project Engineer, Design Engineer or related. Licensed Professional Engineer (Civil Engineering) in California. Familiarity with building codes and structural analysis/design programs including RAM, ETABS, SAFE, ENERCALC, Revit, Hilt, RetainPro. Working knowledge of drawing detailing, field investigations, steel, concrete, masonry and wood design; Prior experiences with DSA or OSHPD projects.
