Role: VMWare Environment Specialist

The Client seeks two contract resources to assist with the support of the Application Development Environment. The resource will act as the technical Linux/Windows Admin and maintain UCS servers in a VMware environment and requires the ability to work on a fast spaced environment and support and resolve incident tickets.. Duties include install, build and maintenance of Red Hat Linux, CentOS and Windows Servers (2016/2019), Patch Management for both Linux and Windows based systems, maintaining the VMware-based environments, and monitoring the virtual server infrastructure environment’s health status. This role will also propose and implement systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system, research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products, and provide new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth. This job requires a local candidate for travel at any time to troubleshoot any hardware issues in our data centers in Raleigh and Charlotte area, work in a fast-paced environment 24/7 days a week, and providing on-call support every other week and occasional weekend/holiday work when required.
Required Skills
1. Knowledge and experience working with building, maintaining, and Patching systems on the following OS -Red Hat Linux, CentOS Required 7 Years
2. Experience administering VCenter and ESXi environments Required 7 Years
3. Experience administering and supporting VMware ESX/ESXi infrastructure. Required 7 Years
4. Experience with administering Windows 2016-2019 environment including OS administration and systems support Required 7 Years
5. Knowledge and experience with managing and troubleshooting DNS, Networking issues Required 7 Years
6. Experience with automation tools like PowerShell, ansible, chef, puppet, or salt Required 7 Years
7. Demonstrate experience using an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving. Required 6 Years
8. Standard office automation products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Required 4 Years
9. Knowledge and experience with JIRA and Service Now for ticketing system Highly desired 4 Years
10. Hands-on experience with cloud hosted infrastructure AWS and Azure. Desired 4 Years
11. Experience managing UCS blade servers Desired 4 Years
12. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by the business. Desired 4 Years
13. Experience working with the application teams to support projects and develop appropriate solutions with technology options as needed Desired 4 Years
14. Experience managing and maintaining Storage such as Pure storage, VSAN and backups Desired 4 Years
15. Linux/Windows server Certifications Highly desired
16. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Desired
