Dr. Rohit Varma, MD, FACS, is a renowned physician scientist and expert on glaucoma and the epidemiology of ocular diseases. Dr. Rohit Varma developed one of the most commonly used glaucoma risk factor scales, which assesses glaucoma risk based on changes in the optic nerve. He has developed many new imaging techniques to detect these changes early on, as well as researching environmental factors that can influence them. At the Doheny Eye Institute, Dr. Rohit Varma, MD, is a surgical and epidemiologic ophthalmologist. Dr. Rohit Varma's main area of study is epidemiologic studies of eye disease in children and the elderly.
