Coming in at 50 tonnes of steel, Moon River is the largest vessel ever launched on the Shannon. Constructed by a local team from Carrick-on-Shannon Marine Ltd., the boat launch saw hundreds of locals flock to the river’s edge to watch the vessel’s find it’s home on the water.
It wasn’t plain sailing at first to get there – it took 15 hours to transfer the boat from its birthplace to the local quay 250 meters away.
But, at 9:30 pm, Moon River finally found its way onto homewater – and has been providing fun on the river for families, friends, and tourists since.
Moon River is a family-run passenger cruiser in Carrick-on-Shannon. We’ve been in the industry for over 25 years now and have always loved bringing joy and adventure into the lives of locals and tourists.
