Job Title: Lead Automation Developer
Location: Seattle, WA
Responsibilities:
Interact with Network teams, Application teams and Infrastructure teams to understand the pain points, requests and requirements to create an inventory of automation opportunities.
Help design, develop, and deliver next-generation network automation solutions to increase the efficiency, reliability, performance and agility.
Develop materials to educate users and leadership about automation, capabilities, benefits, etc., as part of managing change and new features.
Gain a deep understanding of the network landscape and the ecosystems that run atop the network to help drive results.
Work with governance bodies to set policies for automation solutions in the network space.
Work with and mentor junior engineers and provide team leadership where applicable.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Communications) or equivalent and 5 years of relevant software engineering and network experience.
Experience must include in Java/J2EE application development in computer networking domain, Python2/3 network automation development; automation using Ansible; Shell scripting, F5 TMSH programming and Cisco command line; REST API development and Maintenance; developing software in a Unix/Linux environment; networking systems like Cisco switches and routers, F5 load balancers, AVI, VitalQIP DDI solution, Venafi and/or Microsoft CAs, Firewalls.
Strong technical skills including but not limited to Spring boot, Spring MVC, Angular JS, OSGi, Gridfs, Apache Shiro, Apache Tomcat, WebLogic.
Good knowledge and understanding of OSI layers, IP networks and Cisco network design.
Familiarity with SDN/NFV technologies and open networking ecosystem.
Experience in automation using AppViewX automation+ is a huge plus.
Strong experience in development using No-SQL databases Mongo DB or Cassandra - Mongo preferred.
Experience in network security automation is preferred.
Experience in virtualization automation using Puppet/Salt is preferred.
ITIL certification is preferred.
Should be able to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write detailed design documents.
