SCOPE OF POSITION:
In this role, you will lead early stage interactions with customers to identify new glass solution opportunities related to Augmented Reality near-eye displays.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will be establishing deep understanding of Augmented Reality ecosystem, including markets, products, and technology leaders.
- Developing extensive personal network across the industry.
- Identifying and monitoring key technical factors accelerating or pacing Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality (AR/MR) adoption in Enterprise and Consumer markets.
- Developing product technology roadmaps and identifying how Corning Precision Glass Solutions capabilities can address emerging needs related to AR/MR.
- Identify new business opportunity and initiate new programs.
- Initiate and drive external technical partnerships.
- May lead innovation program, including new R&D efforts, manufacturing, and commercial plans.
Travel Requirements:
- We anticipate up to 30% travel for this role, both Domestic and International
Required Education and Experience:
- We require a Masters or Ph.D. Degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, or Material Sciences
- 10+ years work experience in leading innovation programs or new business development
- MBA or Executive training in commercial/business is a plus
- Fluency in the English language (oral and written).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- We need strong written and verbal communication to clearly communicate with customers and establish working relationships at executive levels.
- Summarize complex technical concepts to senior executives
- Identify the critical path on complex and convoluted initiatives
- Work in highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively organize, participate in and lead multi-functional and diverse teams. Ability to gain trust and cooperation from a diverse set of internal colleagues and external customers.
