Responsibilities:

In this role, we will focus on rebuilding, continuous improvement, and cost reduction projects as well as first generation projects for the Harrodsburg plant. Projects will involve software and/or electrical power solutions.

Support Areas - BOD (Bottom of the Draw), Mixing, and Measurements

Day to Day Responsibilities:

You will be providing electrical & controls support for the production processes.
The position involves working with Process and Controls Engineering in the application of electrical and controls concepts to identify, design and implement continuous improvement/cost reduction projects.
Daily production support involving troubleshooting, problem solving and working with the equipment maintenance organization will be required.
Work with project teams to take on difficult automation problems, resolve project related issues, and develop fundamental understanding of technical/process requirements critical to system success
Design, and/or direct resources, to develop fully integrated motion control systems, robot cells, and safety systems
Collaborate with external system integrators and machine builders to successfully deliver fully integrated process equipment systems.
Programming and Troubleshooting of PLC controls Rockwell and Mitsubishi
HMI programming, Management and Support of Ethernet Network (Cisco switches), Programming and Support of OSI PI Historian Software
Participate in and support calibration procedures for metrology equipment. Analyzing data and assist Operations and Development teams in recommending solutions or improvements to upstream process steps
Assist with process experiments and the documentation of those experiments, as defined by Development Team

Travel Requirements:

Possible international travel
We anticipate travel to be 0-10%


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

8 AM– 5 PM / 24 hour production support
Weekend team (periodic) & project team production coverage

Required Skills:

Bachelor degree (Electrical Engineer, or Electrical Engineering Technology)
5+ years of discrete automation experience
Proficient with PLC, HMI, and Motion Programming, low voltage power systems (600V and below)
Familiarity with programming in ladder logic or equivalent.
Ability to solve difficult process problems and determine root cause through process experimentation and data analysis. This is a functional position that requires strong technical curiosity, leadership skills (specs, scopes, budget, timeline, etc), and the ability/desire to learn as well as train others.
Upfront planning, communicates issues, and executes solutions quickly, and efficiently. Works well with other disciplines (process and mechanical engineering) and providing/receiving direction.
Ability to work in a team based collaborative environment and participate on a highly diverse team. Strong teammate who takes personal ownership for their areas of responsibility.
Methodical troubleshooting skills on dynamic automation and motion control equipment following basic scientific methods
Trained in electrical troubleshooting techniques at the component level, to include safe practices, testing equipment, and personal protection equipment
Capable of independently supporting daily manufacturing operations, while receiving and attending to minor projects on said equipment
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
You will work independently with minimal supervision and be primarily self-directed with the ability to create direction

Desired Skills:

Fanuc robot TP programming/setup, experience with PLC/HMI/Motion Programming – Rockwell, Mitsubishi, or GE Proficy, and TUV certification in machine safety
Management and Support of Ethernet Network (Cisco switches)
Programming and Support of OSI PI Historian Software
Controls/Electrical Experience in Manufacturing, broad skill set (first principal design to implementation/installation), working knowledge of 480V and below 3 phase power systems, and AutoCAD/Draftsight familiarity
Knowledgeable of electrical design and machine standards (NFPA, NEC, ANSI RIA R15.06, ISO, etc.)
