Scope of Position:
Technical Leader and Manager responsible to develop and deliver fusion design solutions to address our business needs in precision flat glass manufacturing.
This position will require a Non-Compete Agreement to be signed.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
As the Design Development Leader, you will be responsible to deliver the Isopipe, muffle designs and FDM technologies that meet customer requirements. This includes defining project plan / work stream working with multiple organizations (Research, Development, Engineering and Manufacturing Specialists). You will lead the execution of the plan, deliver results on time and within budget and communicate to steering and stake-holders status via presentation and reports. Additionally you will:
Actively participate in establishing department objectives, prioritization and resource allocation as dictated by business priorities or conditions
Sponsor or lead projects targeted at cost reduction, new products, safety, quality, increased capacity and other strategic initiatives
In addition, the position requires to supervise a team of 3 - 4 development design engineers and technicians
Travel Requirements: You will likely travel as much as 15 % domestic and international, depending upon specific project assignment. Travel may be required for Project communication to Stakeholders, Design and Scope reviews as well as for routine interaction with Project team, Customers and Suppliers
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Our core team hours are 8 AM to 5PM, and periodic evening conference calls
Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical / Engineering discipline (Chemical, Material Science, Mechanical); Master's Degree in similar discipline strongly encouraged
Required Years and Area of Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years design engineering and project management experience including; technology delivery, collaboration and communication in a dynamic environment that tends to be fast paced.
Ability to integrate activities between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Development Organizations.
Background in fundamental sciences of fluid flow, mechanics or ceramic material
