Scope of Position: IT Communications and Mobility Engineer is responsible for the creation and deployment of collaboration solutions through engagement with technology developers and cloud service providers for the enablement of reliable and encompassing voice, video, and mobility solutions to a global organization.
Roles and responsibilities:
• Provide expert level technical support for communication platforms, including Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connections, voice circuits including PRIs and SIP Trunks and mobility solutions
• Understanding of network topology
• Perform routine monitoring and tuning of alerts to assure consistent, reliable operation of the global voice platforms.
• Perform routine administrative/operational tasks, as necessary, to assure the reliable operation of the global telephony solution
• Work closely with Information Technology peers and service providers in joint effort to ensure that the needs and expectations of organization are met and/or exceeded.
• Transfer knowledge via documentation and training to Information Technology resources.
• Assists with vendor management
• Monitor trends in service quality
• Assess and evaluate new market opportunities for the service and associated technologies.
• Align and educate stakeholders on current and planned changes to the service.
Education Requirements: Bachelors required, MBA plus
Work Experience: 8-10 Years in Cisco telephony solutions and mobility technologies
Required skills:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to communicate and present to senior levels of the organization
• Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connections
• Experience High level knowledge of SIP and RTP
• Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, vlans, IP routing and QoS
• Experience with CISCO IOS
• Experience with Cisco wireless technologies and equipment
• Experience with DNS and DHCP concepts
• Familiarity with Mobile security and cellular device support of IOS and Android
• Experience with MDM solutions e.g. MobileIron
• Familiarity with protocol analyzers and packet capture analysis
• Ability to work with international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
• Experience in managing metrics with a solid understanding of SLAs
• Ability to stay current with technology and trends
