Duties:
• A pipeline inspectors duties include:
• Measuring the depth and alignment of trenches.
• Examining the trenches to eliminate stones or debris as they can damage the pipeline.
• Collect data and information of the immediate surrounding to get rid of corrosion factors.
• Perform mechanical particle testing of exposed pipeline areas and map / measure the metal loss on the system.
• Perform visual inspections and electronic inspections by using x-ray, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or electronic crawler inspection methods.
• Take photos or make notes of any repairs or assessments needed in the system.

Requirements:
For entry-level inspector positions, a college degree is not required, for mid-level and senior inspector positions, an associate's or bachelor's degree is required. A degree in engineering, architecture, or construction inspection is apt for a pipeline inspector.
