Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Additional job duties include:
• Support testing of connectors (qualification and acceptance).
• Designing bussing connectors.
• Defining test requirements for connector qualification and acceptance testing.
• Work with customer on issues found and answering questions.
• Provide solutions to defects when needed by the Factory and launch site issues relating to Connectors, Wire, Splices, Contacts, Lugs, Braid, Back shells, Tapes, Potting compounds, Heat shrink tubbing, Labels, Snake skin, and other items.
• Assist factory with defining manufacturing processes
• Out gassing analysis.
• Support Launch Vehicle Anomaly Resolution.
• Take failures to Anomaly Review Board.
• Close out Problem Reports.
• Generate Test Design Documents.
• Review test data.

External Additional Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
• Knowledge including manufacturing, failure modes, design, environment responses, etc. of the following types of connectors: D38999, MS3470, Lanyard Separation, Rack and Panel, Cryogenic, etc.
• Knowledge of connector qualification and acceptance programs.
• Knowledge of harnessing including manufacturing, failure modes, design, environment responses, etc.
• Knowledge including manufacturing, failure modes, design, environment responses, etc. of electrical assemblies which include connectors, fuses, transorbs, diodes, and resistors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications.
• Available to work launch and issues outside of business hours.
• Available to travel.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance if required.
• Requires 4 to 8 years of relatable experience.

External Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of Wire, Splices, Contacts, Lugs, Braid, Back shells, Tapes, Potting compounds, Heat shrink tubbing’, Labels, Snake skin.
• Knowledge of out gassing analysis.
• Troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of ULA processes / Material Review Boards / PIRs.
• General data review skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Independent worker.
• Be open to constructive feedback.
• Able to set aside egos and emotions in order to get the job done and make decisions in the best interest of the program.
• Aggressive about solving issues and acts with a sense of urgency.
