Kronos is Vanderbilt's electronic time and attendance system used by most hourly staff to record worked time and accrued leave usage using electronic clocks (also known as readers and terminals). It is a web-based application and does not require installation of software on a workstation for access Kronos Users access the web-based Kronos Application, which requires Java version 1.7.0_51. If experiencing a Java issue on your workstation, access the non-Java web-based Kronos Application.
Kronos is a time and attendance system that will be used to:
capture time in/out for work, apply pay rules and send information to Payroll for calculating employees’ pay
track Paid time Off (PTO) balances (vacation, personal, holiday, winter break, etc.)
reduce payroll errors and paper flow, increase data accuracy
help with compliance, and save time through payroll process improvements
Kronos is the system of record for employee’s worked hours
