The candidate will provide legal interpretation in the form of research, analysis, and writing to support the development and maintenance of company Legal information in all media, and ensure that published legal information contains and delivers premium legal content. Responsible for writing, editing, and maintaining premium legal content and related products for particular practice areas and jurisdictions. Research, draft, and edit documents to provide practical guidance on how best to accomplish legal tasks in designated practice areas and jurisdictions. Leverage experience to identify additional issues and tasks to be addressed in new content and enhancements to existing content. Adheres to editorial publishing schedules and quality standards. Ensures the consistent superior quality of all content produced. Attends and participates in meetings as requested/required. Participates in the employee evaluation process (both wider feedback and self-evaluation). Develops knowledge of company Legal publications and products related to the employee's responsibilities, and those of competitors. Understands the roles and responsibilities of each collaborator/team member and how each role impacts production. Demonstrates competence on company specific systems necessary to perform job functions. The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school. Admission to state Bar is preferred. Must have 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in Illinois one or more of the following practice areas: Civil Litigation, Real Estate, or Business Transactions. Law firm experience in both smaller and larger law firms in one or more of the follow jurisdictions is needed: CA, IL, FL, NY, TX, PA, MA, NJ, GA OH. Should have strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Superior written and verbal communication skills, including close attention to detail, excellent grammar, and the ability to express complex legal issues in plain language are needed. Experience using other online legal research tools is essential. Must have personal knowledge of recent developments and emerging trends in the practice of law within particular practice areas and jurisdictions.
