Responsible for all operations of the Accounting Department including complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and Credit Union policies. JOB DUTIES: Financial reporting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Manages the daily operations of the Accounting Department which includes accounts payable, wire transfers, ACH, share draft clearings and all general ledger and bank reconciliations. Responsible for all accounting records of the credit union, including but not limited to general ledger entries for bank accounts, investments, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaids. Hires, directs, evaluates and disciplines staff. Assist all regulatory agency examiners, internal auditors, and Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s). Assists and provides information as needed in their review. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for Board of Directors. Receives and processes all IRS tax levies, other levies and freezes, and member garnishments of funds. Responsible for managing a staff of 7 employees. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required. 3-5 years experience in a similar position required. Previous credit union or banking experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience required. Effective communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to motivate, train and coach employees.
