The Payor Sales Representative will operate out of a home office and provide field-based payor sales, marketing, education, and be responsible for an assigned geographic area in the US.Responsible for extensive communication with payors, via phone, correspondence and in person. Responsible for making sales and marketing calls, including in-service education calls, to payors and payor-related customers. Participates in all internal and external Regional payor meetings. Communicates status of payor issues to assigned field sales personnel. Researches, or requests legal research, on payor environment and patterns of payment/denial in assigned geographic area. Assists in defining and clarifying payor opportunities and obstacles. Assists in establishing a strategic plan for addressing payor obstacles and opportunities. Actively deals with key payor opportunities and obstacles, per the priorities of the Vice President, National Accounts. Negotiates payor agreements, within guidelines set by the Reimbursement Team. Case-by-case internal price negotiation, within guidelines set by the Reimbursement Team. Assists with day-to-day transactional assistance to corporate and field staff. Assists in the administrative projects of the department, including database maintenance, correspondence to payors, and preparation of payor applications and agreements. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, RN preferable. Must possess solid sales skills, minimum of 2 years payor sales and contracting experience. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills Demonstrated negotiation skills and extensive knowledge of all aspects of payor systems and contracting including: private/commercial, self-insured employers, workers compensation, and government programs. Must have the ability to work in a team environment, as well as remotely and independently. Willing to travel within the US, up to 50% of the time. Be organized, time efficient, self-motivated, and have a strong desire to succeed and excel.
