An advanced level position responsible for the implementation, integration, administration, maintenance and high level troubleshooting of various systems. PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform administrative activities and provide guidance on server hardware and software and related components, providing hands-on administrative and support activities where and as necessary. 2. Support the process of technical information collection, planning, analyses, standards development, systems administration and maintenance process definitions and prioritizations for existing systems, projects and related IT operating system procedures and policies. 3. Manage and report on the historical data collection software and activities to support trend reporting and monitoring of systems usage, capacity, maintenance and performance for regular reviews. 4. Develop and manage technical documentation libraries that provide end-users, system owners, IT staff and IT management the configuration and implementation details of small to large systems. 5. Develop and manage the technical documentation on activities related to maintaining effective systems security, backup/recovery processes and Disaster recovery systems/site methods and processes. 6. Research and present technical information relating to changes in Information Technology-related disciplines, regulations, trends and advances in system administration processes and provide recommendations for configuration or process changes and implement agreed/approved changes. 7. Develop technical materials and conduct formal/informal training for end-users and internal/external IT staff in areas of specialized discipline. 8. Network and liaison with outside organizations, vendors and resources in development of Information Technology programs to enhance IT system administration processes and ensure systems comply with Company policies and procedures and provides service delivery levels. 9. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional experience in computer programming and operating systems analysis; or 2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and five years of progressively responsible professional experience in computer programming and operating systems analysis. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with little or no experience or knowledge of the technical area. NUMERIC SKILLS: Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods. COMPUTER SKILLS: Requires a high level of computer skills in order to use various software packages as well as a familiarity with hardware configurations to perform systems administration. WORK CONDITIONS: Work in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
