Full Job Description:
Responsible for the development, building, implementation and ongoing maintenance of all aspects of pharmacy related applications, clinical information systems, and computerized pharmacy systems, software and hardware. Supports information management, Epic, Automated dispensing Devices (Omnicell) Automated Dispensing Devices Monitoring Software (Pandora), Robotics (Swisslog Pill and Box Pickers), Sterile Products workflow system (Intelliflow / Dose Edge), Inventory Management Software, and Billing needs of the Department of Pharmacy, and the various client departments or processes across the organization through project coordination, applications implementation, upgrades, testing and ongoing maintenance or enhancements. 1.Provides application implementation support, technical guidance, and serve as primary resolution point for all issues regarding assigned applications. 2.Coordinates activities of assigned projects or particular phases of a given project. Develop detailed work plans, timelines; identify appropriate resources needed and provided timely status reports. 3.Provides data transfer, access and manipulation of aggregate and comparative data. 4.Provides assistance with system options selection, system maintenance/upgrade and implementation, including system definition, build, testing and conversion planning and interfaces. 5.Assures the modification of existing systems through change management controls extensive testing and coordination with all systems, validation of changes to meet regulatory requirements (HIPPA, CPT, ICD-9). 6.Develops and monitors testing scenarios and methodology to demonstrate system effectiveness. 7.Participates in completing user documentation and training procedures. 8.Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties. 9.Supports resolution of all general computer related issues within the pharmacy department and Assists in the maintenance and trouble shooting of workstations and peripherals throughout the department as needed. 10.Represents pharmacy in various I.T. related committees and acts as liaison with the Department of Information Technology 11.Responsible for providing cost effective approach to all assignments. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Pharmacist License Registration BS in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy Excellent verbal, written and computer application skills Excellent Interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: 1.Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related degree or training is desired. 2.Doctor of Pharmacy Preferred. 3.Extensive knowledge of Epic information system. 4.Extensive knowledge of robotic (Swisslog or McKesson) and automated dispensing device (Omnicell or Pyxis) pharmacy application. 5.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, analytical, written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate facts and ideas clearly and concisely. 6.Excellent project management skills and ability to prepare documentation to support established objectives consistent with generally recognized standards. 7.Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Windows OS and applications.
